  • If your problem got solved on IRC, please update the documentation accordingly. If you posted about it on the mailinglist or forum before, follow it up with a description of the solution

uBOTu-fr

[NikO] is running a bot named uBOTu-fr, which will post darcs check-in notifications, infos about changed pages here and new bugs to the channel.

You can also send some commands to the bot:

  • !help gives you a list of commands.
  • !doku 'query' searches this wiki (using google).
  • !ml 'query' searches the mailing list.

zimbot

chimeric is running a bot named zimbot which supports a couple of commands which should help to interchange information (or otherwise having some fun ;-)). Some of the commands are especially/only useful to make it easier for people to help others. The bot itself is a supybot.

!google <search term> performs a google search for the given term and returns the first result
!wiki <search term> searches this wiki for the given term
!bug <bug id> shows a link to a given bug id at http://bugs.splitbrain.org
!forum <thread id> shows a link to a given thread id at http://forum.dokuwiki.org
!doku <name> shows a link to a certain wikipage in the form of http://wiki.splitbrain.org/<wikipage>
!plugintag <tag> shows a link to a wiki page which lists all available plugins which match a certain tag i.e. http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:plugins?plugintag=<tag>
!dict <word> performs a lookup for the meaning of a given word at http://dict.org
!help shows a link to this page
!ask shows an informative message about asking
!seen <nickname> shows the last message of the given nickname along with the date
!download shows a link were to obtain DokuWiki from
!tellme <question> ask zimbot a question, he'll try to answer it
!tiny <url> shortens the given URL by using tinyurl, you shouldn't use this in the channel itself but by direct message the bot,

i.e. /msg zimbot <a very large url>
!give <nickname> <command> <arguments> this is a meta command which can be used with any of the above commands, it will show the given nick along with the result of the given command (note that you don't have to preceed the command with an ”!” in this case.

example usage: !give splitbrain plugintag youtube
!insult <nickname> prints an insulting message to the given nickname, please don't abuse this or it will be removed instantly!
