I've seen somewhere that either MediaWiki or UniWacka integrates with FreeMind. This projects seems to be the “design” of knowledge-maps, much like Wiki is the production of knowledge-documents (in a collaborative manner). I'm wondering if DokuWiki could benefit from such a map, that present a visual representation of all WikiPages and their relationships. Please, browse through Freemind. – 2004.09.29.
Well their site is using MediaWiki - however by a quick browsing through the pages I couldn't see how it integrates with the Wiki engine. Can you explain it? AndiAs I mention in the plugin wishlist, Freemind can be integrated with 2 different methods : An applet that links to an uploaded “mm” file (generated vy Freemind) to render it (the simplest I suppose, by adding a new tag), or an applet that loads the file code (mm files are XML files) to render it. The most comprehensive demonstration is here WikkaWiki Freemind integration (Linked or embedded). Mindmapping is a really nice way to manage ideas, tasks and many more in a non-linear way.

Doesn't the graphviz plugin provide this already?
Of course it would be much easier to use without having to insall an additional software on the server, especially a binary one with a few dependencies; not talking about all those hosting services where it's not even possible to do.

Please have also a look at http://hypergraph.sourceforge.net witch is also a very nice looking tool (java based). Although maybe not as flexible or powerful as Freemind it seems to be able to integrate within a wiki over a “Wiki RPC interface” (whatever this is). — Konrad Bauckmeier 2005-11-14 19:28
